Avatar will pioneer a new age of budget travel for a new millennium. Harnessing the economies of scale, Avatar will make exclusive use of the Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet in a high-passenger configuration (581 seats) 539 on the lower deck and 42 on the upper deck all without sacrificing creature comforts such as seat pitch (“personal space”) roomy overhead bins and wide-body dual aisles.
Avatar’s seating configuration is projected to result in one of the lowest average cost per seat mile (CSM) in the industry and intends to pass those savings on to its passengers by offering every day fares of about 40-50% less than other low cost carriers. Let’s give some perspective: provided seats are purchased 30 days in advance, projected fares from Miami to New York, just $49; from Los Angeles to New York just $79 and Los Angeles to Las Vegas just $19.
“Avatar’s Free Fare “FOCUS” program requires participation in a survey or focus group to earn free travel. Not all volunteers will be selected for participation. Selection is based solely on demographic criteria supplied to Avatar by participating marketing groups. Avatar’s “Fly Free Club” requires a one time $49 registration fee and $249.00 per year annual fee. Free flights are entirely dependent upon availability of unsold seats and are offered to members on a first come first serve (“stand-by”) basis.
Well, there will be a “two bag limit” per person, but unless you’re trying to take all of your worldly possessions with you, a two bag limit is probably going to suit you just fine.
After all, you’ll still have jumbo-sized overhead bins to store your carry-ons, and we’re obviously not going to charge you for that, because that would be unethical, right? You’ll also have plenty of room under the seat in front of you to store a personal item. You’ll even have room to stow your feet without having to take them off – always a “plus” in our book!
Bring your favorite devices. Avatar will offer “free WiFi” to passengers, sponsored by our advertising partners in exchange for putting them and their wares onto our WiFi landing page.
We believe people that rarely fly will fly more often and those who never fly, will now be able to afford air travel.
